Where is Tesla Robotaxi available? Cities, service areas and rollout stages
A guide to Tesla’s published city list and why city announcements, geofences and driverless operations require different evidence.
The official city list is only the starting point
Checked on October 6, 2026, Tesla’s general Robotaxi support page lists limited areas of Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa. This is a company service listing, not a promise of coverage across each entire city. Specific routes and availability still need to be checked in the app.
Why different sources report different city counts
A tracker may count named cities, metropolitan areas, test locations or markets with a separate supervised ride-hailing service. Those definitions can produce different totals without any arithmetic error. Compare the inclusion rules before treating a higher count as faster expansion. Our main service list follows the named cities on Tesla’s general support page and retains source links so that readers can inspect the scope.
A permit, a test and a public service are different milestones
A planned launch shows intent. A permit establishes a regulatory permission within its stated scope. Testing demonstrates activity under specific conditions. Public service requires evidence that eligible riders can actually request trips. A driverless claim adds another question: what people or safety arrangements are present during those trips? A reliable timeline labels these milestones individually rather than treating the earliest one as a completed city launch.
Follow changes at the level that matters
A new service boundary, extended operating hours or a broader group of eligible riders may matter more than a repeated city announcement. Look for before-and-after evidence with dates. Social posts are useful discovery leads but should not automatically alter the confirmed city list. Robotaxi Signal displays social discussion separately from sourced deployment records for that reason.
